There are many things to love about working for JK Moving, and Theo describes it best in his own words: “knowing I’m working for an organization that promotes their employees from within, and one that offers opportunities for growth.”
At JK growth, community, and loyalty are three important foundations of our business, so we’re glad that such qualities resonate so strongly with Theo.
Path up the ladder
Theo Giles started with JK Moving in 2017 as a Move Specialist and has taken on several new roles since. He transitioned to a Non-CDL Driver in 2018 and continued “moving on up” through the company, earning Commercial Driver of the Year honors in both 2019 and 2020. Theo was promoted to a supervisor in 2020, then in January of 2021, he made another step up to become a Class A driver. Before the end of the year, he became a Driver Trainer.
Theo has a few words of advice for someone just starting out at JK: “Do your job, acquire new skills, ask to move up, and express interest in other opportunities. Don’t sit there and wait.”
Looking towards the future
Theo has his eyes on the prize for the future. In the next five years, he would like to be conducting all Driver Training for JK Moving Services with a training program that he builds on his own. With such an ambitious outlook, we bet that he’ll be able to make it happen – maybe even in less than five years’ time!
A life outside of work
While Theo values his time on the clock, he looks forward to his time off just like the rest of us. Outside of work, he likes watching football (he’s a huge Cowboys fan), going to the gym, and spending time with his friends and family.
