Andrew, Account Executive for our Commercial team, has been with JK Moving for just over a year. His background in real estate brings a fresh perspective to the team, and his career path has been marked by adaptability and a willingness to take on new challenges. Here’s a closer look at Andrew’s story, both in and outside of work, showcasing his ability to adapt and thrive in new environments.
From real estate to JK Moving
Before joining JK Moving, Andrew spent five years as a residential realtor in Northern Virginia. However, the demanding hours in real estate didn’t align with his long-term vision. When his fiancée, Katarina, came across an opportunity at JK, she encouraged him to explore it, leading to a career change that Andrew calls one of his proudest achievements.
“Leaving a career I had built for five years was daunting, but I knew it was the right move for my future,” he explains. With no background in the moving industry, Andrew embraced the challenge and has thrived ever since. “It’s been great learning from the team here, and I’m proud of how far I’ve come in just one year.”
Proud accomplishments
For Andrew, transitioning into a new career without a background in moving services was a bold move. Yet, it’s one he’s taken on successfully. His successful transition is an inspiration to all of us, showing that with determination and a willingness to learn, we can achieve our goals.
His willingness to ask for help has been key to his success. “Don’t be afraid to reach out to those with more experience. If you want to learn, people are always ready to teach you.”
Driven by leadership
Andrew already is looking ahead to new goals. His previous role in real estate management sparked his interest in leadership, and he strives to move into upper management in the future. His dedication to leadership is a testament to his potential for growth.
“I know the value of hard work and patience, and I’m committed to growing into a leadership role. Managing a team is something I look forward to pursuing in the future,” he says.
A team player on and off the field
Andrew and Katarina currently live in Arlington, VA, where they are enjoying life in a bustling city environment. Outside of work, Andrew stays active by participating in adult sports leagues around Washington, DC, playing kickball, soccer, volleyball, hockey, and softball.
Andrew thrives in the camaraderie of his sports leagues, but his love for teamwork extends to the office as well. “It’s been great working with the team here at JK,” he says. “The account reps, in particular, are awesome to work with, and I really enjoy spending time with them when I’m in the office.”

If there’s one thing Andrew’s colleagues might not know about him, it’s his rather quirky collection of rubber ducks — over 450, to be exact. What started as a small, COVID-born hobby has grown into a full-blown obsession, with ducks sourced from claw machines, friends, and family.
“They used to be displayed proudly in my apartment,” Andrew laughs, “but after moving in with my fiancée, they’ve been relocated to a box under the bed!”
A motivational tune to keep moving forward
When Andrew needs a boost, he turns to “Happy” by NF for motivation. “It’s my go-to song whenever I need to feel motivated or lift my spirits,” he says.
